Who we are - Spartans Taranto A.S.D.

The Spartans Sports Association Taranto was founded in June of 2006 and has the expressed goal of spreading amateur sport in the Ionian area, with particular attention to the rules of American football.

For this reason, from the very beginning has been affiliated to the Federation of Italian football, NFLI, and participated in the 2007 national championship series B in the southern conference thanks to union with the team of "Trucks" Bari in our group were also included the teams of the "Dragons" Brindisi, the "Eagles" Salerno, the "Wild Boars" Bari and "Gladiators" Rome, ended in second place and ousted from the playoffs by points difference.

In 2008, the team then enrolled again in the national championship series B FIF (Silver league) but this time with only athletes Taranto. In our group were also members of the "Wild Boars" Bari and the "Wild Dogs" Lanciano. But because of some injuries the team failed to finish the championship.

In 2009, after a good recruitment which led to arise in the first match of the season with 30 athletes, the team was entered in the National Championship Silver League FIF. In the group were also members of the "Trucks" Bari, "Brigands" Naples and the "Condor" Grosseto, ended in third place in the group SOUTH.
In the same year the team within the divulgamento of our discipline and to be able to experience the many new guys, she enrolled in the national championship junior under 21 of FIF, which took place from October to December, with 20 players under 21. In our group were the same age of the "Gladiators" Rome "Brigands" Naples.

In 2010, due to a re-establishment caused by the loss of ten more experienced players, the team had to join the team of "Trucks" Bari to join the league of the Federation CIF9 FIDAF. In the group were also isritti "Wild Boars" Bari, the "Dragons" Salento and "Goblins" Lanciano. The boys were quite distinct resulting Taranto many times the best in the race.

In 2011, the team has participated in the national championship Taranto "CIF9" FIDAF well recognized that saw 35 teams divided into two conferences "North" and "South" each of which was divided into 4 groups. In the group the "Spartans" have addressed the "Patriots" Bari, the "Dragons" Salento and the "Achaeans" Crotone, finishing in third place.
